Product Description

DescriptionThe present set-up is designed to study characteristics of given centrifugal pumps of same characteristics when operated in series or parallel mode. The set-up consists of two Centrifugal pumps. Both pumps are coupled with individual DC Motors. A speed control arrangement facilitates the end user to operate the centrifugal pump at different speeds. To calculate the input power to the motor, an energy meter is provided. A Proximity sensor is provided to determine RPM of the Pump. Pipeline andvalve arrangement provided enables the user to operate the test rig either in single pump operation, in parallel mode or in series mode. Present set-up is self-contained water re-circulating unit, provided with a sump tank, centrifugal pumps etc. Water is pumped by means of centrifugal pumps and passingthrough the pipeline, it returns back to the sump which make the system re-circulating type. Flow of water is measured by flow sensor fitted in discharge line. Control valve and Pressure sensors are fitted in suction and discharge line of the centrifugal pump to conduct the experiments on different head and flow. The supplied set-up is complete in all respect. Only water supply and electricity supply is to be provided by the end user for running the set-up. The present set-up has a facility to interface the system with computer which enables to log the experimentaldata using computer. The educational software and data-logging package has been developed for unit. The software environment base is of LabView of NATIONALINSTRUMENTS, USA. This software is compatible to interfacing unit designed by Engineers. This software package provides a comprehensive educational software environment within which the investigations can be performed. This software is capable to tabulate thesample readings according to the requirement of experiment under study and results obtained can be compared. The real time data acquisition can be done by interfacing the set-up with computer using software. Software allows the user to have control on data logging, printing the stored data, preparing spread sheets in Excel etc.

••Computer System: i-3 processor with DVD Drive, Windows 7, MS-Office pre-loaded. One USB slot required in PC for Data Acquisition Card.
